Administrative Hearings

Administrative hearings are hearings conducted by a hearing officer to administratively conduct public hearings on four specific types of cases that do not come before the Planning Commission or Platting Board. The Hearing Officer is generally the Director of Community Planning, but as needed may designate a substitute Hearing Officer for a specific meeting. These hearings are decided based on facts and evidence provided by the parties. The applicant has the burden of proof and should provide as much documentation as possible to support their case.

These types of specific cases heard during an administrative hearing are:

  • Quick Plats
  • Grandfather Rights
  • Amnesty Relief
  • Administrative Variances
